How Are The Pearls Made?
Pearls are different from other gem-stones instead of being mined from rocks pearls are harvested from the ocean, found in living sea creatures. In order to protect itself an oyster will secrete a substance which builds up around sand and then hardens. This in turn starts the process of pearl being formed.
